Users review: This film does an excellent job of bringing Shakespearean dialogue withmodern images. Of course, I first watched this movie when it came outbecause Leo eight years later (and seven years after high school ended), I realize how well done this film really is. Luhrmann did a great job of making the film believable, using a strange language. This moviebrings new life into the words of Shakespeare, and even if you know playalmost head is refreshing to hear the words in an entirely new context, and one that makes sense. This version of Romeo and Juliet is not actually addsomething rich history of the game. The sound is excellent, acting is adequate (Danes and DiCaprio do a great job to show the young lovers), and the scenery is great. This film jump started the trend of modern remakes of Shakespeare, and I think you're the best.
